COMMERCIAL & MULTI-FAMILY DEVELOPMENT
Prior to construction, all commercial and most multi-family developments require review and approval from the Ellis County Engineering Department, Department of Development and Fire Marshal’s Office. Plat requirements must be met prior to beginning the development application process. In addition to the Ellis County Fire Code, effective November 1, 2020, the Fire Marshal’s Office is under the 2018 International Fire Code. It is in a developer’s best interest they contact the water provider to ensure the available water has the capacity to support fire suppression requirements, in addition to other utility providers.
